Hints to managing your mailbox:

You can pre-record seven different personal greetings. This can save time for you during the holidays and vacations. Once recorded, just select the greeting to play from the list. Also, if you are unable to get to the office, no problem, you can manage your mailbox from any phone. Just press the * key when your greeting begins to play. You will need to enter your security code then, you can select the greeting you wish or record a new one. The greetings are in option number 3 from your main menu.

Example:

Susan is unable to come to work today and she wants callers to know that she can be reached at an alternate number. She calls her extension at work and her greeting begins to play. She presses * and her security code and hears the menu playing. She presses 3 to manage her mailbox and then presses 1 to change her greeting. Susan does not want to record over her main greeting so she selects greeting number 3, she will use this one as her out of the office greeting. When prompted, she speaks "You have reached the office of Susan Harris, I will not be not be at my desk today, however I can be reached at 123-555-5555. Please try that number if you need to speak to me right away, otherwise leave a message at the tone and I will return your call tomorrow. Thank you for calling." After recording the new greeting, she will review it  and save it by listening to the prompts. Now Susan has an "out of the office" recording in her list that she can select anytime she will be away, simply by selecting greeting number three from her list of greetings.
